It Takes A Village

It Takes A Village

IT TAKES A VILLAGE.

I’m not going to lie, I love the self-improvement world. I have all the notebooks, I read a lot of the books, and I follow most of the mainstream pioneers. And while the industry itself seems to have a very fine line between the people who are all in and the people who are far from it, I want to be really honest. There are times when I am jazzed up about all of this and times when I love writing in my notebook and times when I love listening to a podcast about getting the F over myself and leaning into the fear! But there are 100% times when I just want to lay on the couch and watch Friends reruns for the 1000th times. There are times when I don’t want to eat salad, I want spicy Thai noodles and chocolate chip cookies for dinner. And there are times when I question myself and how I will ever reach goals that I’ve set for myself.

The truth? It takes a village. There are countless women (mostly) and men who put the work in and grind every single day and have so much to show for it. And those are the people I am looking at. Those are the people I am ready to emulate. Those are the influences that I look for everyday to bring me to the tools and the reminders and the proof that we can do anything we want so long as we make the time to pursue our dreams.

When I look at the people in Hollywood with their glam squad and stylists and they boast that to get this beautiful look it takes a village of people to accomplish. Well, as someone who strives to live my best life everyday, and continues to put the work in to the best of my ability, I will also tell you that it takes a village to show you what is possible and to instill that faith in your dreams for yourself. Our life experiences make us who we are and for better or worse we are along for the ride. But we can’t do it alone.

There are so many teachers and professionals who can help you heal your life. You don’t have to face your fears on your own. Study the teachings, do the meditations, move your body, spend time in prayer, in silence, and alone with your thoughts and you will be greeted by a version of yourself you didn’t know existed.
