What is Girl Crush?
When I first started GIRL CRUSH, it was a time in my life that I am not particularly proud of and one that until recently I wasn’t super comfortable talking about. I was a few years out of college, at a job where I started to question what I was doing with my life every single day. Looking back I am confident in saying that my unhappiness felt situational. But it didn’t change the fact that everyday felt like a struggle, a constant questioning and a deep rooted feeling that I was supposed to be doing more with my life.
I’m a big believer in the power of small changes making a big difference. Gratitude, perseverance, faith (no pun intended). Honestly, I changed my attitude and my perspective and everything around me changed. More to come on what I did to implement those changes.
Fast forward to almost a year later and I am proud to announce the launch of my blog. I’ve put so much into this and the funny part is it’s not anywhere near where I want it to be, but it’s right where it needs to be today.
For the last few years I have had so many role models in my life that I am lucky enough to call friends. Some have quit their jobs and went back to school, some have started side hustles building companies from literally nothing, and some have sunk their teeth into their current 9-5 and constantly work on perfecting their craft in a more corporate environment. At the end of the day these women decided their dreams were worth going after, regardless of what obstacles may stand in the way.
In a lot of ways, GIRL CRUSH started as an observation. I saw people all around me crushing it and I genuinely wanted to know how they realized their passion and where they found the courage to stop caring what everyone else thought.
GIRL CRUSH is a platform for women to open up about the many ways in which they are making their dreams come true in their own lives. It’s my way of finding out who is crushing it and exactly what they are doing in order to make their dreams a reality. I want to hear about the small victories and the major challenges. After all, life really is about the journey, not the destination.
As I said, when I first started this blog it was almost a year ago. It’s a constant work in progress, a constant test of faith. I have so many hopes and dreams for where GIRL CRUSH can go, and I am so excited to be able to share this journey with you from literally day one.
Stay tuned to read about our very first GIRL CRUSH, Daisy Krikun, a singer/songwriter from New York who you will completely fall in love with! Coming May, 2019.
